Awesome/Silly mani - Review

I got Claire's Awesome/Silly Mood polish yesterday, and of course I had to try it out!
The color is a light pink when warm, and a dark pink when cold. There's a light shimmer in the polish which shows better when the polish is darker.
The application was ok, but a bit streaky, and I used 4 thin coats. The drying time was fine, and it dries up a bit matte, so I used a top coat.

Silly when warm.

Awesome when dipped in cold water.

My pinkie wasn't fully recovered from the cold water bath.

Played a bit with the lightbox. This is pretty much the color that my nails are right now, a bit in between warm and cold.

And here my tips were a bit colder.
On some pictures like this one, the edges of my nails look a bit red. I'm not sure why, but I have that more often.

As you can see, I added some water decals. I got them in the sample pack from Viva La Nails.
I've tried using water decals once before, but that didn't turn out so good (read: an easter mani with chick decals that ended up decapitated).
Last time I used them by placing the chicks on my nails, making the back wet until I could take the paper off (just like those fake tattoos when you're a kid). Those decals were a bit old as well, so I guess that didn't help either.

This time I checked the vid on the Viva La Nails site, and applied them by cutting them out and soaking them in a bowl of water for a few seconds. Then I took them out and placed the decal on my index finger, with my other hand I could easy take off the paper.
After that it was just a matter of placing it on my nails, pushing it in position and letting it dry. You have more time than I expected to get them at the right spot, so it's not too hard to get them all where you want.

I found the decals pretty easy to use, after doing the first few and getting the hang of it, it goes fast. Stickers are faster but those often have visible edges and once they're on your nails, they're stuck.
I'm not sure how easy they are to remove, but I assume it's easier than stickers. All in all, I liked using them. And now that I know better how to use them, maybe the remaining chicks get another chance next easter.

Enjoy your day :)
