Guest Post: ChitChat Nails

The next guest post that I have for you is from Marta from ChitChat Nails. Enjoy!

When Bregje asked me to guest post for her, I had to sit myself down for a moment. Her's is one of the very first blogs I started to drool over when I first got into Konading earlier this year. I've also really enjoyed chatting her up on Twitter; she is always so positive and easy to tweet ;) As you all would agree, Bregje has a real talent for giving her manicures a level of subtle sophistication, and I have learned a lot from drooling over her manicures (and do I even need to get into the lovely shape of her nails)... doing this guest post, for me, is like the unpopular kid being asked to sit at the cool-kids table ;) I'm sitting, I'm shaking, and I just hope I don't spill polish all over myself ;)
Today I am trying my hands at a subtle Konadicure, Bregje style ;) and I hope you like it!

Base: two coats of Color Club "Nomadic in Nude"
Stamp: Konad m16 with Sally Hansen "CoCo A-Go-Go"
Extras: I fished for a large glitter out of Sephora OPI "Traffic Stopper Copper" to place on each nail, and I used a dotting tool to dot in some of OPI "Extra Va-Vaganza" on each nail as well
Top: Seche Vite

Thank you Bregje for letting me post on your blog.  You inspire me to do more tone-on-tone stamping... You have a real talent for what you do, and I hope you and your followers liked this post :D

I see that I should really get some nude polish and try smaller images more often as well ^^ And those glittery accents are a great finishing touch! And *blush*, thank you for your post Marta :)

Have a look at Marta's blog for awesome, creative manicures and pics that often have a little something extra!

Guest Post: Love. Varnish, chocolate and more...

Hi all! As I said in my previous post, I asked a bunch of great bloggers to write a guest post. The first one that I have for you is from Deborah from Love. Varnish, chocolate and more...

Hi everyone! No, Bregje didn't change her nails or hands, it's a guest post today! Some of you may already know me and some of you may not. My name is Deborah and I am also a blogger. Bregje and I are both from The Netherlands and both hang around on the same Dutch forum (the forum that caused my addiction actually). When she started blogging I loved it immediately, how could I not when looking at her nails and skills?

She was sweet enough to invite me over for a guest blog so I decided I wanted to do something different, something new even. I present you: my first skittle manicure! I've seen skittles like these before and usually they are created with soft and light colors. I wanted to create something more suiting the holidays so I used more silver and dark colors.

What I used per nail: [pinky] Wet 'n Wild Black Crème [ring finger] China Glaze Tinsel Town [middle finger] H&M Notoriously Beautiful, dots in China Glaze Icicle and Wet 'n Wild Black Crème [index finger] China Glaze Icicle with Wet 'n Wild Black Crème stripes

So what do you think? Do you like these skittles?

Thanks so much Bregje for this opportunity!

I love how Deborah took the sweetness out of these kinda manicures and spiced things up, and don't they look festive? :) I still want to try a mani like this sometime as well, thanks for reminding me of that Deborah and thanks a lot for your lovely post! ^^

Deborah's pics are always easy to recognize thanks to her unique way of taking them, and this way she shows fab swatches and great combos on her blog!

New York with Awaken

Yesterday I found an almost untouched display of the Catrice Big City Life Collection :) I got me one of those palettes, and of course I had a look at the polishes as well. But Sydney looked way too much like Grey's Kelly (I compared the bottles in the store), Berlin reminded me of some colors in my stash, and London is a yellow. That's not really my color, and I thought it might be a bit sheer as well, so I skipped all of those.
But New York instantly made me go oooh! It's like a lighter, slightly more blue version of the color that I used in my previous mani, Spruced Up. But I couldn't capture it well, my pics show it much lighter and more blue than it really is! =(

I used 2 coats of New York and picked China Glaze Awaken and Konad plate m85. The image was a nice surprise, it was one of those images that looks ok on the plate, but not much more than that. But I think it looks lovely on the nails :)

Because I'm still not posting as much, I asked a bunch of lovely bloggers to write a guest post for my blog. So the next posts will be those of guest bloggers, and I'll just save the manis that I do during that period. I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I do!

Thanks for stopping by :)

OPI Nicki Minaj Collection - Preview

Pink Everyday!

OPI Partners with Platinum Recording Artist Nicki Minaj to Launch Limited Edition Lacquers

OPI announces the launch of six new limited edition shades inspired by hip hop sensation Nicki Minaj, including a purple Shatter! Inspired by Minaj’s unique style, love of bright colors, and her debut album Pink Friday, the Nicki Minaj by OPI promotion will feature an array of bold hues, from neon lime green to pink.
OPI is so excited to work with Nicki in releasing these six new nail lacquers,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “Nicki has taken the hip hop world by storm, but her music is only part of the equation. She’s also become a fashion inspiration, noted for her daring costumes and hair color both on and off the stage.”
Nicki’s eclectic look made including a new hue in OPI’s bestselling Shatter coat a must for this collaboration. The purple Super Bass Shatter (a record-setting purple that “shatters” before your eyes) is inspired by graffiti art and works when painted over any dry OPI hue. Adding top coat takes Super Bass Shatter from matte to glossy in seconds.
The line features five nail lacquers in addition to Super Bass Shatter, ranging from fantastic pink, rainbow confetti glitter and charcoal sparkle hues to two green shades in lime and teal:

Pink Friday
Kick off the weekend with this pop! of bubblegum pink.

Metallic 4 Life
This charcoal sparkle flies with the stars in the skies.

Save Me
I drove for miles just to find this silver-rainbow glitter.

I came to win, to fight…and to wear this aqua.

Did It On ‘Em
A lusty little lacquer that loves the “lime”-light.

Nicki Minaj by OPI nail lacquers contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application. Spruced Up with Adore

Hey all! :) I can clearly notice that the weather has changed, my nails are chipping a bit more and growing a lot less fast. So I filed them down a bit again to get rid of some weak spots, and will be extra careful in the coming months. But it's nice not having to file as often tbh, got a bit tired of it every now and then :P
I'm also more in the mood for darker colors with this weather, and today I went for Catrice Spruced Up (2 coats). I stamped it with BM plate 225 and China Glaze Adore, and used the small part of my Konad double sided stamper to aim the image a bit better. I find images that aren't full nail pretty tricky to get straight, so I barely ever use them, but this way it wasn't all that bad :)

Thanks for looking!

Galahad again...this time with flakies!

Yes yes, I know I'm showing A England Galahad a lot, but I'm simply loving it that much! ^^ This time I went for a quick little something extra, a coat of Essence Glisten Up!, which is probably my favo flakie polish. It's such a shame they don't sell it anymore, but luckily it's a layering polish so the tiny bottle lasts longer, and I have a backup :) The flakies don't show up so well on my pics, but as you can see Glisten Up! also adds a shimmer, so pretty! After I made these pics I added a coat of Catrice Frosting top coat, but that didn't turn out the way I hoped it would. It's a matte TC with a blue shimmer, but I'm preferring the mani shiny so I'll add some normal TC later again.

This afternoon I went to the vet with Sue and Dewey. Sue had to go for her checkup and all was fine, yay! :) I'm very happy that she couldn't find anything, hopefully that'll stay that way for many more years to come! Dew had to get his shots and disagreed with the whole thing, and the cage he was in wasn't closing so well anymore. Lets just say I really need to get a new one now, lol. He also showed how well he can climb me, he ended up on my back under my coat and the vet had to grab him from there, haha. That's my Dewdew! ^^

Have a lovely weekend :)

Galahad with Millenium

My sister had a wedding last weekend and she let me do her nails! ♥ She normally doesn't wear much polish, so I thought that picking colors from my stash would be a bit overwhelming, haha. But when I saw her dress I instantly thought of A England Galahad, and she picked China Glaze Millennium and Konad plate m85 to stamp with.

I never stamped nails other than my own before, and didn't realize I roll my fingers as well as the stamp, but we managed :) I fixed some lines a bit with a nail art brush and finished with top coat. I'm glad she picked Millennium, because it reminded me that I should use that one more often as well, I think it looked great! I couldn't make pics because I did her nails in the evening, and my camera's flash is a bit over the top, lol. But she was so sweet to make some pics the next day, and here they are =)

Thanks for stopping by and take care :)

Happily Ever After with BeYu 209 & Giveaway winner!

Morning! I used 2 coats of Orly Happily Ever After, which is a nice color, but the pretty shimmer in the bottle plays hide and seek on your nails. So I added a coat of BeYu 209, and now it looks like a deep red purple with red shimmer in most light, but when the sun hits it, it's oh so sparkly! And the other colors in the BeYu show a lot better as well then as you can see :)

And this morning I went through all the giveaway entries and added extra entries to all who commented recently. Sabine from My Polish Stash was one of those people who got extra entries, and that gave her the winning number, grats girl! :) Tickle My Triangle will come your way asap.

For the people who added questions or links to their blogs in the giveaway entries, I've read them all and will answer you/check out your blog in the next week.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fab weekend!

Pure Petunia with Joy

Hi all! Atm I'm polishing and posting a lot less, but only previews on the frontpage isn't how I like things to be. So I grabbed my stamping stuff and made this NOTD, and I'm glad that I did, because I ♥ it!
I used 2 coats of Orly Pure Petunia, stamped with China Glaze Joy and BM plate 208. It really matches the season with the colors. Pure Petunia looks a lot more purple irl, not as red/rose as on my pics. I'll go look for a good lamp sometime soon, because a lot of pics were oh so blurry, Fall with it's grey weather has arrived!

I added the last pic because it's closest to the actual color, I'll definitely wear these 2 polishes together more often :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Let's Get lost with Circus Confetti

Hey all! I used 2 coats of Essence Let's Get Lost as base for this mani, and topped it with a coat of Essence Circus Confetti and TC to make it a bit more smooth again. When I did the cleanup I already noticed how bad LGL stains, my cuticles got blue, eek! Needless to say, my nails don't look so great right now!
There are loads of polishes out there just like Circus Confetti, and I always thought it looked fun. But to be honest, I never really got why this kind of glitter was so popular that so many brands ended up adding a version of it. There are other glitters that I love much more! But sometimes you have to see it for yourself, so I got the Essence version to try it out. And now that I've tried it, I can't say that it makes me go woah. I've seen some great frankens with it though, so I think I'll try that sometime :)

I got quite a few questions about the China Glaze Kaleidoscopes, so for all of you that were wondering where I bought them, I found them at a Dutch webshop called A Case Of Nails. They only have a few left unfortunately, and Tickle My Triangle is sold out now =(

And another thing, I'm a bit busy atm, so I won't be posting much in the coming week(s). Thanks for looking and take care! :)
