My Top 10 of 2015: Nail art

Let me start this post by wishing you a fantastic NYE and 2016! May it be a year filled with happiness, health, and full of wonderful people and experiences - and nail polish of course! :) Here's my Top 10 nail art of this year, in random order:

Sheer polishes and a stamping plate, easy and effective! Smudged, smeared and stamped!

My Top 10 of 2015: Polishes

Yes, it's that time of the year again; the time where I go through the posts of the year and somehow come up with a top 10. Really though, there were plenty polishes that deserve a spot on this list, and it depends a lot on my mood as well. And then to think I haven't even swatched that much this year! So this list focusses on just a few brands, but they are brands that you can't really go wrong with anyway :) Here we go, in random order!

A England Incense Burner from the Rossetti's Goddess collection. Beautiful duochrome on top of a pretty basecolor, you can't go wrong with that!

Happy Holidays!

Hi lovelies! Merry Christmas all!! I of course don't know if you're celebrating anything, but either way, I hope you'll have a great time these days :) I'm currently wearing Rose Bower on my nails, but since that one stamps well too, here's a holiday mani with it as stamping polish. It turned a little more on the pink side though, but that's nothing a little bit of red sparkle won't fix ;)

Sinful Colors Snow Me White stamped with A England Rose Bower and BornPrettyStore plate 01, and China Glaze Ruby Pumps

BornPrettyStore mesh pattern vinyls

I haven't tried vinyls before (although I have a lot waiting in my review drawer now - stay tuned!), so I was eager to try BornPrettyStore vinyls. But if you pay close attention, you'll see this mani is stamped... Read on to see why!

A England Dorian Gray, Camelot, Merlin and Excalibur Renaissane stamped with UberChic Beauty UC4-03 and BornPrettyStore Temix #12

Subtle Savita

Even though it's fun to come up with a mani that matches a product for review, I also like to just look in my drawers and pick a random polish that jumps out to me at that moment, and take it from there. That's what I did here as well, and I'm sure it doesn't come as a surprise that I went for a subtle, swirly stamping to go with it :)

Zoya Savita with China Glaze Red-y & Willing and UberChic Beauty plate UC1-02

JORD Wood Watch Fieldcrest

Hi guys! I'm starting the month with another gorgeous JORD Wood Watch - this time it's a Fieldcrest in Dark Sandalwood. I intended to create a mani to go with the watch, but it ended up looking a lot more like my background, haha! Keep on reading if you'd like to see more of this combo :)

Collage of the Month: November

I'm starting the last month of this year with a cold and a sick cat, ugh! Hopefully the vet can help this afternoon and we'll both feel better soon :) In the mean time, here's the collage of november and, in case you missed those reviews, you can get 10% off at Onecklace with coupon code shinies10 & you can get a $35 JORD Gift Card through this link!

Onecklace silver chevron birthstone necklace

Hey all! Today I have another Onecklace review for you, this time of a beautiful, chevron-shaped necklace with a Swarovski birthstone (diamond, to go with April). And of course I have a mani to go with it :)

Catrice How I Matt Your Mother with China Glaze Millennium, Bundle Monster Polynesia BM-XL113 and Viva La Nails rhinestones, Onecklace sterling silver chevron birthstone necklace

Simply swirled

Time for something simple in between all the reviews, but simple doesn't mean boring to me; I never get tired of a mani like this! And it also shows that A England Let Me In stamps wonderfully ♥

Onecklace silver angel wing bracelet

Hi guys! A while ago I've reviewed an Onecklace angel wing necklace, and I'm so happy that I got another review opportunity with them! This time I chose a beautiful necklace, which I'll show sometime soon, and a bracelet that matches with the previous necklace. Here's a quick look at the bracelet and my nails, further down you'll find more information and a 10 off coupon code :)

JORD Wood Watch Cora

Hey all :) As you might've seen on my social media, the lovely people at JORD contacted me and asked if I wanted to review for them again, and of course I said yes! I've showed you the Ely watch before and this time I chose Cora, in a beautiful combination of Koa wood and rose gold, with little Swarovski sparkles here and there.

In this post you'll find my review, my nails of course, and... a $35 JORD Gift Card for you!

More Messy Mansion plates!

Howdy! Earlier this month I showed you 4 Messy Mansion plates, but those weren't the only ones that I received; here's another bunch of great, themed plates!

Essence I ♥ My Boyfriend with Dance legend Top Satin, A England Queen Of Scots, Tristam and Spirit Of The Moors with Messy Mansion MM66

Will it peel, will it stick?

I'm starting the weekend with a review of 2 products, and 2 matching manis! Let's take a look at one of the finished results first, I'll share my thoughts on the products further down.

Flowers, flowers everywhere!

Hi guys! I just got home from shopping with my sister (new shoes, yay!) and I'm now working on some reviews. In the mean time, here's a mani from the vault with doublestamped flowers. I didn't plan on doublestamping, but the first polish that I used was less suited for stamping than I thought, oops! It gave an uneven result, but below the 2nd color, it works after all and adds a nice sparkly touch :)

Dance Legend #1031 with A England Gloriana, China Glaze Red-y & Willing and BornPrettyStore BP-L015

A England To Emily Bronte Collection

A England's latest collection is yet another masterpiece; this time it's a collection that's dedicated to the author of the worldwide famous English gothic novel Wuthering Heights, Emily Brontë. I fell in love with every single polish in this collection, and I'm eager to tell you why!

Bundle Monster holiday themed plateset: Halloween & Thanksgiving

Hey lovelies :) Unfortunately my review is too late for Halloween, but this Bundle Monster plateset isn't just about the scary and the spooky, there's a lot more images to match with the current season! Here's the mani that I did with the set, you can check out all the plates further down!

4 Messy Mansion plates

Good afternoon! The next review that I have for you is of a couple of Messy Mansion stamping plates. I'm starting with these plates, but there will be another post with 4 more of their lovely plates, so keep an eye on my blog if you wish to see more of them. Let's have a look at my nails first:

DRK Nails plate and BornPrettyStore stamping polish

Hi guys! I've shown you a couple of DRK Nails stamping plates a while ago, but there was one plate that I still didn't show yet. Yep, it's long overdue, but better late than never, right? And speaking of DRK Nails, did you know they also sell stamping mats now? They have them in 4 different colors even! I haven't tried them, but if you're looking for a mat, you might want to check them out. BornPrettyStore has send me yet another impressive stamping polish, so I figured to combine the plate with the polish, and catch up with my reviews a little bit faster :)

Collage of the Month: August - September - October

Time has gone by so fast these last couple of months! I hope to find more time for nails this month :) Here's the collage of the past 3 months:

Femme Fatale Cosmetics - The Dune Collection

Femme Fatale Cosmetics will release 1 more collection in 2015, and that'll be The Dune Collection. The presale for this collection runs from November 1-5, so make sure to grab any polishes that you might want during those days :)

"The Dune Collection is an 8 piece set inspired by the 1965 epic science fiction novel by Frank Herbert. An absolute sci-fi classic and a favourite of mine. This collection channels particularly warm tones and holographic microglitters."

Femme Fatale Cosmetics The Dune collection

Simple stamping, Mont Bleu products and an update!

Hey there :) I'm starting this post with a mani from the vault, for which I used an Essence polish from their latest core line. It's a lovely matte!

Essence Happy New Green with Kiko #626 Lawn Green and UberChic Beauty plate UC 4-02

Going back to my stamping roots!

When I think back 5 years ago, when I just started stamping, I think of metallics (often China Glaze, their Romantique and Khrome collections to be precise!) and Konad plates. But with all the plates in my stash, and just a couple of those, I haven't touched a Konad plate in quite some time! For this mani I picked a base and stamping polish, then chose an image to go with it. When I saw the result it straight away reminded me of those early blogging years :)

China Glaze Hey Doll with Kiko #630 Golden Rose and Konad plate m51

Femme Fatale Cosmetics - Midsummer Night's Dream

Hey all, let me start by saying thank you for the comments on my recent posts. I've been quite busy, and my head is overflowing with random stuff, so I'll just say a big thank you here instead! ♥ Today I have swatches of the FFC Midsummer Night's Dream collection for you. The presale for this collection started yesterday, and will last until the 5th - so if you want to get your hands on any of these, don't wait too long! :)

The Midsummer Night’s Dream collection is an ethereal 7 piece interpretation from the classic Shakespeare play. Our primary visual influences were from the 1988 illustrations by Sylvie Monti found in the children’s retelling by Naomi Lewis

My swatches are with 3 coats and top coat, although some look nice with 2 coats already, if you don't mind a bit (more) visible nail lines. I'll mainly let the pics do the talking here, hope you'll enjoy! ^^

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Midsummer Night's Dream

Burnt orange meets black

This mani feels perfect for the season, it's an easy-peasy stamped mani but with big result, if you ask me! The basecolor that I used here is amazing for fall, and it works with my skintone as well, which isn't always the case with orange/golden colors. And if you'd like something orange-y on your nails for Halloween, this polish will be perfect for you too :)

And here's fall on my nails!

Good morning! I had something different in my mind for this mani, but sometimes it's hard to imagine how it'll turn out on the nails, and this was one of those moments. But in the end, it did all come together I think :) No sure if I should've mattified it though, that took away the soft shimmers in the sponged polishes. Nevertheless, it sure feels nice to wear such colors again!

Last summer mani of the year?

Hi guys! It's been almost a month since my last post, what can I say, real life got in the way :) But that did give me plenty time to get lots of inspiration again, and the current season (and matching weather...) gives even more ideas; time for the fall colors! ♥ But before I get to that, I still have some products that I didn't review yet. In one of my last posts I already showed you a BornPrettyStore stamping polish that I liked a lot, but I had another one (different brand, but also from BPS) and a little jar of studs in my review drawer. Time to test those!

Dance Legend Julia with Essence The White Bunny, BornPrettyStore Temix #12, UberChic Beauty plate Out Of Africa and BornPrettyStore studs

Reversed stamping with lots of colors!

Heya! Lately I've been spoiled badly with all the plates that I received, but doing those reviews also ment that I didn't get to play as much with each plate as I'd like (not complaining here, don't get me wrong, it's awesome and I feel SO honored that I got those opportunities! :)). Having foster kittens doesn't help either, but my current sweeties are doing great, and stamping decals combine nicely with kittens: I can make them in between and won't have to walk around with wet nails as much! So that's exactly what I did here, I took a plate from a set that I wanted to play more with, Bundle Monster's Shangri-La set, and made decals on my Uber Mat last night while they were sleeping. And today, during another nap, I finished the mani :)

UberChic Beauty Fairytale: Sweet April with BornPrettyStore stamping polish

Hi there! As you may have seen on my social media, I have new foster kittens, 2 babies of just 2.5 weeks old. Because of that, I won't blog as much in the coming days or even weeks, they still need to be bottle-fed round the clock! I do have a few hours in between, but my head isn't fully into polish right now and I also don't want to risk having wet polish on my nails if one of them needs unexpected help :) I hope to post more of them on my foster blog sometime today, but I might just go for a nap instead, haha. Anyway, now you know why my blog might go a little quiet, but here's a quick review post in between!

Once upon a time...

... in a land far, far away, there was a young woman named Brittany. And she brought us lots of awesome plates! Yeah, I can't say I'm feeling inspired to write a fairytale right now :P But one of UberChic Beauty's latest plates, the Fairytale plate, did inspire me! The plate is packed with fairytale related images, so let's have a look at it, see if you're getting inspired too :)

Besides the Uber Mat, which I blogged about in my previous post, UberChic Beauty also released a bunch of new plates! A new collection and 2 loose plates, and today I have my review of the collection for you :)

UberChic Beauty Uber Mat

UberChic Beauty just released something new, something that we haven't seen before, and something that's called uber. But is it? Time to find out, here's my review of the Uber Mat!

Collage of the Month: July

July had plenty nail art posts, and that'll continue in August! What you can expect to see is at least another DRK Nails plate, the new UberChic Beauty plates, and the Uber Mat! I'm very excited to share all those, keep an eye on my blog for the reviews if you're interested :)

Femme Fatale Cosmetics - The Mad Tea-Party Collection *pic heavy*

Femme Fatale Cosmetics is launching a new collection, for which the presale will start tomorrow (August 1st) and will run till the 5th. These beauties arrived just in time and I rushed to get the swatches done, so you can see them before the presale starts! As Femme Fatale Cosmetics says:

"The Mad Tea-Party Collection is based upon a chapter from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The contrast between muted and vibrant colours with variety of finishes reflects the soberness and eccentricity (respectively) found within the characters in this chapter."

To me this looks like a typical FFC collection, lots of finishes and various colors, often combined into a single polish. Intricate and pretty, and with plenty variety to offer something for most people. Here's a quick look, check out the full swatches further down :)

Simply striped (and 2 DRK Nails plates!)

I've done a couple of more creative manis in the past month, with stamping decals and such, but I never get tired of a simple tone-on-tone either! And I had a nice matte polish standing on my desk, untried, so I teamed it up with an A England polish and one of these pretty DRK Nails plates, to create this simple striped mani.

Essence Macarena Mint with A England Saint George and DRK Nails Cobogo 2

Lace nails with a touch of sparkle

Earlier this month I reviewed some BornPrettyStore plates, and I already showed manis with 2 of those plates (here's the 2nd mani). The 3rd plate is a plate packed with lace designs, and I went for some A England stamping, to add that little bit of sparkle ♥

Catrice C02 with A England Sleeping Palace and BornPrettyStore BP-L020

Pastel gradient with DRK Nails

Morning! DRK Nails send me a couple of their plates and for this mani I used one of them. There's 2 in this post, the others will be in upcoming posts, so keep an eye on my blog if you wish to see more of them!

Bundle Monster kindly send me some items for review, and I already showed you the dual sided tools and their latest plate collection, Shangri-La. I really liked those items, and the items that I'll show today also get my stamp of approval!

UberChic Beauty Love & Marriage

Hi guys! The last of the 4 UCB single plates that got released recently, is the Love & Marriage plate, and today I have my review of that plate for you. And I used it for a swirly girly mani with pink and glitters!

Foster kittens Poppy, Munchy and Nala

Hi lovelies! I've spoken about my new foster kittens and I've shared them on a few of my social media, I'm catching up on my fosterblog as well, so it's about time to share them here too! These 3 girls are now estimated 7 weeks old, 2 of them are sisters (Poppy and Nala), Munchy was found alone and injured. After getting a week of benchrest, her main issue, her backleg, did improve a bit, but it's far from good yet and we'll take her to the vet on Wednesday. It doesn't seem to hurt though! The sisters are doing a lot better as well, they needed some medical treatment too, now that's almost finished and all that is left is further socializing. Here are my current cuties ♥

Poppy and Nala were a bit scared at first, but that's nothing a little attention from my Dewey won't fix! I'm still a bit impressive for them, but when they're sleepy they forget about all that, and do enjoy their cuddles then.

UberChic Beauty Out Of Africa

I'm continuing my trip around the world with UberChic Beauty's Out Of Africa plate, which is packed with animals, prints and Egyptian designs. Here's a mani I did with it, you can see the plate further down :)

Essence Enter Wonderland with China Glaze Sunshine Pop, Papaya Punch and Ruby Deer, stamped with Konad Black and UberChic Beauty UC Out Of Africa -01

UberChic Beauty The Far East

Yesterday I showed you UberChic Beauty's The Wild West plate, today it's The Far East's turn! I'm sure you straight away get some images in mind with a theme like that, let's see below if the plate has those as well...

UberChic Beauty The Wild West

UberChic Beauty recently released 4 new plates (yes, they're on a roll!) and I got the pleasure of reviewing them all :) The first one that I'll be showing is 'The Wild West -01', a plate which is completely filled with -you guessed it- wild west related images. Check out the plate further down!

Howdy! Here are 2 polishes of Dance Legend Firefly, which is a collection with 9 glow in the dark polishes. And they sure do glow!

New Bundle Monster plate collection: Shangri-La

Hi there! Bundle Monster just released a new plate collection, it's called Shangri-La and consists of 10 square plates, which are sold as a complete set ánd as single plates. I'll tell a bit more about them below, but lets not wait any longer and take a look at them first!

Reversed roses with BPS plates

Hi there! I did a 'reverse stamping' mani the other day with a rose image from BornPrettyStore. When I saw that image, I straight away knew what I wanted to do with it, and I'm glad that it turned out so well! It was quite a bit of work, but I'm really loving the result! :) Here's the finished mani, the plates are further down:

Essence for Fall/Winter 2015 - Preview

Morning! Today I have the Essence preview for the coming seasons for you, these products should be available in August. Unfortunately the file with all the information doesn't open well on my pc (I just see a couple of randomly placed images), so I'll just post allll the images without the information. But I think most of these images speak for themselves anyway :) And as always with such images, they're clickable for an enlargement. Enjoy!

Blue roses with Dance Legend Go Fast and Top Satin

Hey all, here's a mani that didn't go as planned, but I'm liking the result nevertheless! I wanted to make a blue watercolor base, but that already went wrong on the first nail. Lesson 1, don't apply the drops of polish straight from the bottle, you might end up with a huge blob instead of a small drop, haha! So instead of a real watercolor base (apply basecolor, then top coat to protect the base, add small drops of color, take a brush with remover and 'paint' it on the drops of color to create a watercolor effect), it looks more like saran wrap meets remover, or something. I'll tell more about this mani and the top coats further down!

Dance Legend Velvet #655 with OPI I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw, A England Galahad, Essence Forever Mine, Konad Black with UberChic Beauty plate UC1-02 and Dance Legend Top Satin

Random Dance Legend swatches (+ nail art!)

Hi lovelies! Our hot weather continues, so it's time to empty my vault a bit. I have some mani ideas, but the thought of polishing (and risking bubbled polish on top of that), isn't really doing it for me right now! But when temperatures drop a little bit, there's plenty ideas in my head to get going with, that's for sure :) Today I have some Dance Legend swatches + nail art for you, with polishes from the Velvet, Sahara Crystal, Binary and Enamel Gel-Effect 2 collections.
