Here's a list of polishes that work for stamping (Konad stamping polishes not included). Of course there's a lot more polish that works fine, but I'm only adding the ones that are in my stash. Please note that the little color cubes can look different than the actual color depending on your screen, I picked the colors to what looked closest on my screen.
Some polishes are a bit sheer for stamping (* behind the name), but that doesn't have to be a problem, just try it out on a similar base color. Images with larger areas can show it more though, so using a finer image works better if you're stamping with a somewhat sheer polish.
You can also use a top coat for stamping on a matte mani, go for a top coat that isn't too quick drying.

Yay! Thanks so much for this list :)
ReplyDeleteWow - this is a brilliant post and the fact that you even gave a colour key beside it is great. Amazing post. love your blog
ReplyDeleteAs Emer said: go you for the colour keys (and the post itself, of course)!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this list! Will look for some of these =) You can also add Color Club's "Worth The Risque" it's my favorite stamping polish. Also China Glaze's "2030" (the gold version of "Millennium") is a great one =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the list. It's very helpful.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering which nailpolish remover you use, since I think the one that I'm using is way to agressive, but can't seem to find a good replacement.
Small error with Blogger showing comments here, so I'm sorry for my late reply!
DeleteI use an el cheapo remover with aceton, nothing special! But you could try a remover without aceton (those usually makes my skin dry, so I'll just stick to the aceton stuff). And I've heard good things about Zoya Remove+, but that's an expensive one. You can make something like that yourself as well though, just Google it :)
Thanks for the list. Out of all of my polishes only P2 so cool and Catrice Poison me, Poison you! are on the list. I have a lot of essence colors, but none of the ones you listed. Well then, poor me has to go and buy some more polishes, shame, really *big grin*

Where did you get your nifty stamping kit from?
ReplyDeleteOops, late reply, sorry! I only get mail from comments that are via Disqus unfortunately, so I missed your comment.
DeleteMy stamping scraper and the double-sided stamper are from Konad which I bought online, my plates are from different brands :)
If you haven't tried, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polishes are AWESOME for stamping. I like the Silver Sweept better than the Konad polish!
ReplyDeleteI heard that before, but I can't get those here unfortunately! We only have a limited amount of SH Xtreme wear and they're ridiculously overpriced (like $10). But I have one of those Xtreme wears that might work as well then, will have to try! Thanks for reminding me of that polish :)
